Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart ~ Organic ~ Raw ~Vegan

Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart ~ ORGANIC ~ RAW ~ VEGAN

I crave chocolate Everyday! Thick, gooey, bittersweet RAW VEGAN chocolate- in any form it may present itself! I'm sure there are worst things to crave, but sometimes it gets ridiculous. Thank goodness I have a husband, son and cheeky fur-child, who share the burden of devouring my homemade chocolate treats.

The best thing about raw vegan chocolate, is that is takes about 2 seconds to whip up! You can eat it straight from the bowl, or chill it in the fridge in little moulds for later enjoyment.

But sometimes, I like to pair my chocolate with other tasty flavours, and one of the best flavour matches would have to be with PEANUT BUTTER! But not just any peanut butter- the thick crunchy goodness bought at the local health food store, freshly ground for one's pleasure.

I could eat it by the spoonful, but I decided I would combine the two delicious flavours, on a bed of vegan cookie dough, to create a simply divine tart- to be shared, or eaten hidden away in one's cupboard, is entirely up to you!

SO when a craving hits, I need to action it straight away! So I opt for recipes that are quick, easy and made up of simple staple ingredients that are found in any vegan's pantry!

So here it goes...

Cookie Dough Base:

1 cup Organic Unbleached Plain Flour (Almond Flour for GF Version)

1/2 cup Organic Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil

1/4 cup Organic Maple Syrup

Dash of Organic Vanilla

1 cup Organic Peanut Butter (Or Almond, Macadamia, Sunflower Seed Butter)

Chocolate Ganache:

1 cup Organic Raw Cacao

1/2 cup Organic Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil

1/4 cup Organic Maple Syrup

Dash of Organic Vanilla

Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius. Combine all ingredients for the base layer and press into oiled baking pan. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Once removed, evenly lather Peanut Butter over the base, and place in freezer to chill for 15-20 minutes until Peanut butter has firmed.

Ganache: Combine all ingredients and lather over chilled peanut butter layer.

Devour straight away, OR chill in fridge to harden the ganache.
